Don't Miss

One of the few shortcomings of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 we encountered when we reviewed it not long ago was the limited on board storage it packed. For a device that is meant to be the “be-all” like the Galaxy Note 5, users are bound to do more with it and in the end, even the 32GB internal storage may not be enough. It does not help matters that about 9GB of that is not accessible to the user. New buyers of the Galaxy Note 5, of course with deeper pockets, will be a bit lucky. Samsung is introducing a new Galaxy Note 5 variant that amps the available storage to a whopping 128 GB.

Dubbed the Winter Edition, the 128 GB
Galaxy Note 5 is geared towards taking advantage of the holiday season and provoke renewed consumer interest in one of Samsung’s best ever smartphones.

The 128 GB onboard storage is the only feature that sets the Galaxy Note 5 Winter Edition from the regular models which arrive packing either 32 or 64 GB internal storage that cannot be expanded using microSD cards.

The announcement comes just a few days after it became clear that Samsung would be introducing the Galaxy Note 5 in some markets like Europe where it had hitherto held off so as to push sales of the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

The Winter Edition of the Galaxy Note 5 will only be available for sale in Korea through the country’s biggest mobile network operators, SK Telecom and KT (oleh) in gold platinum and silver titanium. It will be priced at an equivalent of $846.
